Our Vision and Goals

Our vision for Pasadena Day Nursery is one of a unique child care and development community. The Pasadena Day Nursery community consists of adults working together for the best possible care and development of the largest number of children we can serve, within our means, at any particular time. By "unique" and "best possible," we mean that we strive to maintain an above-ordinary level of quality which is far beyond the mandatory minimum requirements for child care set forth by the state of California. Past and present members of Pasadena Day Nursery can attest to our success in providing a unique and loving environment for the expression of this vision. Pasadena Day Nursery prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, or marital or family status.

History

The Pasadena Day Nursery for Child Development was founded in 1910 to care for the children of working widows in Pasadena and nearby communities. Pasadena Day Nursery's services gradually broadened to include all children of all families in need of child care. Our preschool building was designed especially for caring for young children. The classrooms are light and airy, opening into an inner atrium and out into the playgrounds. Conveniently located near Villa Park, the children enjoy walks to the playgrounds, large grassy field, and weekly farmer's market and swim lessons in the summer.
